The drop in Qualcomm's value as a company is due to something much bigger than just short-term fluctuations in market prices. This decline raises an important question concerning whether or not the semiconductor industry will be able to grow outside of the current cyclical nature of its business because Qualcomm's main source of revenue at this time is from their mobile phone business. Without showing that they can continue to expand beyond mobile phones, Qualcomm's stock price could remain flat despite reasonable ratings and dividend support.
