The bUSD0 Redemption Token, known as rt-bUSD0, is a specific token within a crypto/Web3 ecosystem that is paired with bUSD0. Its primary function is to serve as a redemption-right token, allowing users to convert bUSD0 back into USD0 at a one-to-one rate. When users mint bUSD0, they are also issued rt-bUSD0. This rt-bUSD0 is essential for early redemption of bUSD0. To redeem bUSD0 before its maturity period, users must burn one bUSD0 and one rt-bUSD0 to receive one USD0. The token is designed to provide holders with the ability to exit their bUSD0 position early at its par value. It is fully transferable, meaning it can be held by users to maintain their redemption rights or traded on secondary markets. This transferability offers flexibility for users to manage their exposure to bUSD0, optimize yield strategies, and handle liquidity within the ecosystem. Importantly, rt-bUSD0 does not generate any yield and carries no governance rights. It was introduced as part of an update (UIP-12) that also renamed USD0++ to bUSD0, aiming to refine the system and remove prior limitations. This new mechanism applies specifically to bUSD0 minted after the update. Users have options when obtaining bUSD0 and rt-bUSD0: they can choose a "flexible" option where they mint both tokens together, or a "bonded" option where they can sell their rt-bUSD0 at the time of minting to acquire more bUSD0. The rt-bUSD0 token is a native asset on the TON blockchain. An airdrop event for RT-BUSD0 has occurred, distributing tokens to early participants and community members who were active in the bUSD0 Redemption Token platform and the TON ecosystem. Staking rt-bUSD0 is encouraged to earn on-chain rewards and activate a multiplier system.
