XEXCHANGE (MEX) FAQ
What is the Energy system and how can users obtain it?
Energy is a core mechanic within the xExchange ecosystem that measures a user's commitment. You obtain Energy by locking your MEX tokens, which converts them into xMEX. The amount of Energy assigned is based on the quantity of tokens locked and the duration of the lock period. This Energy serves as the foundation for your participation in governance, determines your eligibility for certain platform features, and dictates the level of reward boosts you receive in liquidity farms.
What are the primary differences between MEX and xMEX tokens?
MEX is the standard, liquid token used for trading and providing liquidity. In contrast, xMEX is the "energized" version of the token that is created when MEX is locked. While MEX is tradable, xMEX is non-liquid and serves as the utility token for governance, receiving platform fee distributions, and unlocking boosted reward tiers. Effectively, xMEX represents a user's staked position and long-term alignment with the protocol.
How are rewards distributed and why does the APR fluctuate?
Most rewards on the platform are paid out in xMEX to encourage long-term ecosystem stability. The APR is dynamic and is heavily influenced by a user's Energy level. Users who commit to longer or larger locks earn more Energy, which grants them a "boosted" APR. This means that participants with higher Energy levels capture a larger relative share of the total reward pool compared to those with lower Energy.
What is the "Fee Rewards" pool and how does it work?
The Fee Rewards pool is a distribution mechanism where 0.05% of every swap executed on the platform is collected and shared among xMEX holders. Because these rewards come from actual trading activity across the exchange, they are paid out in various tokens involved in those swaps, such as USDC or the network's native token. The amount an individual receives is determined by their total Energy weight relative to other participants.
Is the MEX token model inflationary or deflationary?
MEX utilizes a hybrid model designed to balance growth and sustainability. It features an emission schedule to incentivize liquidity providers, which is inflationary. However, this is offset by several deflationary burn mechanisms. These include the permanent removal of a portion of trading fees, withdrawal fees from farming pools, and the heavy "Energy Removal Fees" collected when users choose to unlock their xMEX before the designated maturity date.
What are Energy Leagues and how do they impact xLaunchpad participation?
Energy Leagues are tiered categories, such as Iron, Bronze, Gold, and Platinum, that rank users based on their total Energy. Your league status is determined by the amount of xMEX you hold and your chosen lock duration. These tiers are used to determine eligibility and the number of lottery tickets a user can claim for new project launches on the xLaunchpad, ensuring that the most committed community members have priority access.
