Nucleus Vision, now known as Nitro Network, is a technology project that combines the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, and blockchain to create a hyperconnected ecosystem. Founded in 2014 by Abhishek Pitti at Harvard University, the project originally focused on bridging the gap between online and offline retail. Its core technology involved proprietary IoT sensors, called ION Sensors, that allowed brick and mortar businesses to identify and communicate with customers in real time without the need for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or facial recognition. In late 2021, the project rebranded to Nitro Network to reflect an expanded mission beyond retail. The current focus is on building decentralized private communication networks. By leveraging technologies like LoRaWAN along with 3G, 4G, and 5G, the project aims to offer a community powered alternative to traditional cellular networks. This transition shifted the goal from retail data insights to a broader vision of decentralized telecom where individuals can participate in building and owning network infrastructure. The native token for the ecosystem is nCash. Originally launched as an ERC20 token on the Ethereum blockchain, it has since integrated into other environments like the Avalanche network. Within the ecosystem, nCash serves as the primary incentive mechanism. It is used to reward participants for various contributions, such as hosting network nodes, sharing data, or validating network coverage. The token facilitates a data exchange marketplace where consumers are compensated for their information, and businesses pay for access to high quality insights. The platform includes several key components. ION Sensors act as the hardware layer for data capture and network coverage. A dashboard known as Neuron provides analytics and business intelligence for enterprises. The ecosystem also features specific roles for participants, such as miners and nesters, who help maintain the network infrastructure and receive rewards in return. Nitro Network operates with a burn and mint economic model designed to manage the supply of nCash as the network grows. The project is led by a team of engineers and developers with advisors from the venture capital and telecommunications industries.
