PHARAOH [OLD] (PHAR) FAQ
Why is there a "Pharaoh [OLD]" token?
The project migrated to Pharaoh V3 to streamline governance and enhance capital efficiency. A new smart contract was deployed, leading market trackers to label the original token as "[OLD]" to distinguish it from the current, active PHAR token.
What is the 5,000:1 token split?
As part of the V3 migration, Pharaoh implemented a 5,000:1 token split. For every 1 old PHAR token held, users receive 5,000 new PHAR tokens. This adjustment changes the total supply and individual token count while maintaining the relative value of a user's position within the ecosystem.
How can I migrate my old tokens to the new version?
Migration is not automatic for tokens held in private wallets. Holders must use the official migration portal at phar.gg. For those holding locked Pharaoh (vePHAR), the system allows for migration into the new xPHAR governance model. It is important to migrate promptly as the project moves liquidity and rewards to the new contract, making the legacy version obsolete for yield generation.
What is xPHAR and how does it differ from the legacy vePHAR?
The migration replaced the old "vote-escrow" (ve) model with xPHAR. Unlike the old system which required manual renewals and long locking periods, xPHAR provides permanent voting power without timers. Additionally, xPHAR features a "burn-on-exit" mechanic where converting xPHAR back to liquid PHAR results in 50% of the tokens being destroyed to support ecosystem deflation.
Why is the old token still visible on decentralized platforms?
Legacy liquidity pools on various decentralized platforms may remain active because their smart contracts are immutable. However, the project team has withdrawn official support and incentives from these pools. Trading the "[OLD]" token is discouraged as it lacks utility and may suffer from low liquidity and high slippage.
Why do some security trackers show warnings for the old contract?
Automated security flags often appear on market trackers when a team pauses or alters an old contract during a migration to prevent unauthorized trading. While these warnings may seem concerning, they typically reflect the technical transition to the new V3 contract rather than a security risk. Pharaoh remains a recognized project within its ecosystem.
