Imprnt is a Decentralized Science (DeSci) platform, also known as Preprints.io, designed to decentralize the peer-review and research-sharing process. Its primary purpose is to eliminate traditional academic gatekeeping by allowing researchers to store their manuscripts as NFTs on-chain. This ensures that scientific work is immutably recorded, openly accessible, and transparently managed. The $PRNT token serves as the native utility and governance asset that fuels the entire ecosystem.

Authors on the platform mint their research manuscripts as ERC-721 NFTs, primarily using the Polygon blockchain. This creates an immutable, time-stamped record of the work. Researchers can choose to provide open access to their findings or monetize their intellectual property through specialized access tokens. By utilizing this NFT model, the project provides creators with verifiable ownership and new pathways for funding and distribution without relying on traditional publishing houses.

vePRNT, or vote-escrowed PRNT, is a non-transferable token obtained by locking $PRNT tokens for a set period. This mechanism is used to determine a user's voting power within the protocol. By holding vePRNT, community members can participate in governance decisions and influence the future direction of the platform. This model encourages long-term participation and aligns the interests of the users with the overall health of the Decentralized Science ecosystem.

Users can earn rewards by depositing tokens into the Stability Pool, which provides the liquidity necessary to maintain the protocol's stability. By contributing to this pool, participants help absorb debt from liquidated positions. In return for providing this security, users receive rewards in the form of discounted collateral and additional $PRNT emissions. It is important to note that these rewards do not auto-compound; users must manually claim and redeposit them to grow their positions.

The Imprnt project features a multichain presence to ensure broad accessibility. While it originally launched on the Polygon network to facilitate efficient NFT minting, it has expanded to other prominent ecosystems. Currently, the token is available and active on Polygon, Base, and the TON (The Open Network) ecosystem. This expansion allows researchers and contributors from various blockchain communities to participate in the DeSci movement using their preferred network.

It is a common point of confusion, but $PRNT and $IMPT are entirely separate projects. Imprnt ($PRNT) is dedicated to Decentralized Science, peer review, and academic research sharing. In contrast, IMPT is a project focused on carbon credits and environmental sustainability.
