RELEND USDC (REUSDC) FAQ
What is the Relend Network?
Relend Network is a DeFi protocol designed to solve liquidity fragmentation across various Layer 2 (L2) blockchains. It utilizes a fractional reserve banking model to provide localized stablecoins, known as rUSDC, to different ecosystems. This allows L2 chains to benefit from native-like stablecoin liquidity while ensuring that the underlying value remains redeemable 1:1 for USDC on the Ethereum mainnet.
What is the difference between reUSDC and rUSDC?
reUSDC (Relend USDC) is a receipt token issued to users who deposit USDC into Relend’s Ethereum-based pre-deposit vaults. It represents a share of the pool and earns interest for the holder. In contrast, rUSDC is the protocol’s localized stablecoin minted on partner blockchains like Swellchain. While reUSDC is a mainnet yield-bearing asset, rUSDC provides the actual liquidity used within specific L2 networks, both being backed by assets in Relend vaults.
How can users earn rewards with reUSDC?
Holders of reUSDC can generate yield from three primary sources: lending APY from underlying assets placed in decentralized lending vaults, ecosystem incentives such as third-party rewards, and RELEND Units. RELEND Units are reward points earned by pre-depositing assets or completing social quests on community platforms. these units serve as a measure of user contribution before the protocol's official token launch.
What are RELEND Units and the native $R token?
RELEND Units are pre-launch points earned through early participation in the ecosystem, such as asset deposits or community engagement. They track contributions and may qualify users for future rewards. The $R token is the planned governance and utility token of the Relend Network, which is expected to be officially released after the main network goes live.
How does the protocol maintain capital efficiency and the 1:1 USDC peg?
Relend uses a "Money Multiplier" mechanism that allows for a 10x increase in lending supply by using deposited assets as reserves for localized rUSDC. To maintain a 1:1 peg, the protocol utilizes Price Stability Modules (PSM). Local PSMs provide immediate redemptions on each chain, while a Global PSM on the mainnet acts as a central reserve to replenish local liquidity when needed.
How do I add reUSDC to my wallet and what are the security risks?
You can manually add reUSDC to the LBank Wallet or other supported digital wallets using the Ethereum contract address: 0x0f359fd18bda75e9c49bc027e7da59a4b01bf32a. Regarding security, the protocol utilizes underlying vaults that have undergone over 23 independent audits. Additionally, Relend employs "risk segregation," meaning that if a specific L2 chain encounters issues, the reserves on other chains remain isolated and protected.
