Sei Staked fastUSD, known as sfastUSD, is a yield-bearing, staked version of fastUSD. fastUSD is a decentralized, over-collateralized stablecoin native to the Sei blockchain, designed to maintain a stable value pegged to the US Dollar. The creation of fastUSD involves users depositing accepted collateral assets into a smart contract vault on the Sei fastUSD protocol. This process establishes a decentralized line of credit. sfastUSD itself is supported entirely by Elixir's deUSD. The Elixir platform powers sfastUSD, facilitating its functionality. For cross-chain transfers, sfastUSD leverages Hyperlane, while Redstone oracles are responsible for securing its pricing data. The primary purpose of sfastUSD is to enable users to earn rewards while keeping their assets liquid within the Sei network. It integrates with various decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols, including Yei Finance. Holding sfastUSD grants access to native yield, rewards specific to the Elixir platform, and liquid Sei rewards. Staking fastUSD in a Stability Pool plays a vital role in maintaining the protocol's overall solvency and stability. Participants in this pool can earn rewards from liquidations and emissions of governance tokens. Users can acquire sfastUSD by converting other assets like SEI or USDC into fastUSD and then staking it on the Elixir platform. Another method involves bridging deUSD from the Ethereum network via Elixir and subsequently staking it to receive sfastUSD. The underlying Sei network is an open-source Layer 1 blockchain specifically designed for efficient digital asset transfers. It utilizes a "Twin-Turbo Consensus" mechanism and operates on a Proof-of-Stake model.
