TOKI is a Web3 infrastructure project focused on enhancing blockchain interoperability. Its primary mission is to establish a secure cross-chain bridge that allows different blockchain networks to communicate and share assets seamlessly. Unlike many traditional bridges that rely on centralized validator sets, TOKI utilizes the Inter-Blockchain Communication protocol, which is a highly regarded standard originally developed for the Cosmos ecosystem. TOKI is expanding this technology to connect major non-Cosmos blockchains such as Ethereum and BNB Chain. The project employs a multi-prover security model to ensure the safety of cross-chain transactions. This approach combines multiple advanced technologies, including Trusted Execution Environments and Zero-Knowledge Proofs. By using these methods, TOKI aims to provide a high level of security without the need for users to trust a centralized middleman. Another key technical component is the Light Client Proxy, which helps maintain security while reducing the computational costs and complexity of verifying transactions on-chain. One of the standout features of the TOKI ecosystem is its focus on native token transfers. Most bridges require users to use wrapped versions of their tokens, which can create security risks and fragment liquidity. TOKI aims to overcome this by using unified liquidity pools, allowing users to swap native assets across different chains in a single click. This is intended to improve the user experience and capital efficiency for both retail users and decentralized applications. TOKI has established significant partnerships within the financial sector, particularly in Japan. The project is collaborating with major institutions like MUFG and the Progmat platform to support the cross-chain movement of regulated Japanese stablecoins. This positioning highlights a focus on bringing institutional-grade assets into the decentralized finance space. The ecosystem features a native token, referred to as TOKI, which is designed to play a role in incentivizing liquidity providers and supporting the overall growth of the network. While the project has conducted various testnet phases to refine its technology, the official launch of the main token is anticipated to take place in 2025.
