YIELD APP (YLD) FAQ
Why did Yield App cease its operations?
Yield App suspended all activities in mid-2024 following significant losses linked to the 2022 failure of a major defunct digital asset exchange. Although the platform initially claimed it was unaffected by that event, it later emerged that third-party hedge fund managers held substantial company assets on the collapsed exchange, leading to insolvency.
Who is currently overseeing the company's asset recovery?
Following a ruling by the Supreme Court of Seychelles, Stephen Cork and Hadley Chilton of Cork Gully LLP were appointed as Joint Liquidators. They are currently managing the liquidation process, which involves recovering remaining assets, overseeing creditor claims, and investigating legal actions against the platform’s former directors for alleged wrongful trading.
Can users still access or withdraw their funds from the platform?
No. All platform activity has been permanently halted, and users cannot log in to perform direct withdrawals. To be considered for any potential recovery, users were required to submit formal claims to the liquidators by the established deadline. The process is now handled entirely through the court-appointed liquidation portal.
How are repayments being handled for affected users?
Repayments are not being made on a one-to-one basis. According to the Seychelles Supreme Court, because assets were commingled in company wallets, users are classified as unsecured creditors. This means users receive a pro-rata share of recovered assets. Distributions are ongoing and depend on the successful recovery of funds from third-party managers.
What is the current status and utility of the YLD token?
The YLD token has lost all its original utility. It was designed to provide benefits within the platform's ecosystem, such as boosting interest rates. Since the platform has been shut down and the company is in liquidation, the token no longer serves any functional purpose and is considered defunct with no ongoing development.
Are there any official developments or airdrops currently active?
No. Any news regarding new airdrops, "V2" staking, or recovery services requiring a fee are considered fraudulent. Because the platform is under court-ordered liquidation, there is no official team developing new features. Users should only rely on updates from the official liquidation portal or the verified domain to avoid recovery scams.
